U8 Pre Travel Academy

 

The program is for Girls and Boys born in 2017 (U8) and possibly some talented or mature 2018 (U7) players.

 

This is meant to be a stepping stone to competitive travel soccer for players and families seeking a more structured and detailed environment than town recreational soccer.  The program's focus is on long-term development, participation, and enjoyment for every player involved in the program.  ​

Based on the soccer teachings of federations around the world, this program has been designed to instill a passion for the game while maximizing skill development.  

 

Following US Soccer's new initiative, the program consists of:

• Two, one-hour practices each week with professional trainers with a focus on skill development in small-sided games-based training: Tuesdays & Thursdays from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM

• Weekly Game Day uses a 4v4 format in a festival-like setting which creates an ideal environment for players to explore, learn, and enjoy the game free of the pressure of the traditional league format with occasional play days with other area pre-travel academy programs.  These generally take place early Sunday mornings or late afternoon on Sundays

• Festivals with outside programs bring more competition into the program.

• 10-week season in Fall and 10-week season in Spring  

• Cost per player is $400 per season (Fall/ Spring) 

• U8 players may be considered for U9 Travel Team placement based upon the recommendation of the professional evaluators

 

Overall the program creates more success, less pressure and more fun for the kids just starting out.
